2000 - New Travel Images
Nature
and Travel Photography from the Republic of Ireland
| Fate plays
itself out in strange ways when I'm travelling.
Before leaving for Scotland in September, a
friend had told me to do everything I could to
get over to Ireland to visit the Cliffs of Moher
- a five kilometre long stretch of cliffs on the
Irish west coast she described as "the most
incredible cliffs you'll ever see." Two weeks into my
adventures in Britain, a gas blockade threatened
to leave Scotland (and me) without any fuel for
travelling about. That same day, fate arrived on
my doorstep via a circuitous route -- a newspaper
with a special offer to travel from Edinburgh to
Belfast for a mere 25 pounds, return. I couldn't
refuse! And though the Cliffs of Moher are a long
ways from Belfast, I found myself exloring the
magnificent west coast of the Republic of Ireland
two trains, two buses, a rental car and far too
many pints of Guinness later.
Hope you enjoy
these photos as much as I enjoyed the people and
the sights of Ireland.
